The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has called a halt to all of the country’s 46 public colleges of education.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held on January 17, a statement said on Monday, January 24.

At an emergency meeting held on January 17, 2022, the National Council of Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) agreed unanimously to suspend the indefinite strike action across all 46 Ghanaian public colleges of education on confirmation thru validation of January salaries and the implementation and payment of 2017-2020 conditions of service,” the statement said.

CETAG members suspended teaching service starting on Thursday January 6.

This action came on the heels of, among other things, “The failure by the government to implement the 2017-2020conditiosn of service as agreed,” a statement said.
