Christians urged to pray for peaceful elections

Prophet Joseph Billa, the Pastor of the Amazing Power Church International in the Upper East Region, has called on Christians across the country to pray steadfastly towards ensuring peaceful 2020 elections.

Speaking to his congregants, the Prophet urged Christians to up their efforts in prayer to seek God’s intervention in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections so that after the December 7 polls the country would remain peaceful and united.

The Prophet entreated all Ghanaians to go home after voting adding that Ghana had gone through seven successful Presidential and Parliamentary elections peacefully and had gained recognition in both Africa and the international arena and nothing should be done to take away that recognition.

Prophet Billa who also appealed to his colleague men of God to use their pulpits to preach to their congregation to obey to the tenants of the election procedures underscored the need to also intensify their prayers towards peaceful election.

He cited instances, where political leaders belonging to different sides interacted freely and even married one another and called on the youth not to allow themselves to be used by selfish politicians to cause trouble in the forthcoming elections.

He stressed that election is about conflict of ideas and not about causing violence and nothing should be done to destroy the peace the country was enjoying by the selfish gains other politicians.
