Colour symbolism in schizophrenia is more prevalent than it is known to be. Mainly because schizophrenics are shy in revealing their perception in correlation with different colours.
Doctors however are more aware of the discussed situation as compared to the general population. Upon history-taking, they realize schizophrenics perceive different colours to convey certain messages.

In a rehab facility, a psychiatrist recorded a schizophrenic was more polite towards people who wore white. History revealed he thought individuals who dressed in white were more spiritual and religious.
“I have this feeling, people who wear white are more religious and spiritual,” said a schizophrenic in an interview with a journalist.
“Men who wear pink are more sissy,” said another patient in a different setup.
Where colours have a lot to do with our emotions, their association with different people, objects or Godly messages is absolutely abnormal.
It is important to identify schizophrenic individuals exhibiting features of colour symbolism and educate them. The aim should be to treat them in a way they don’t lack confidence or feel inferior to others in society.
