The Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, has been appointed to serve on the newly established working group at the world football governing body (FIFA).

Pinnick, who is a member of the FIFA Council landed the new role after being nominated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Dr Patrice Motsepe.

The joint working group will analyze the applicable legal framework and the governance structure, mandate and mission of Normalization Committees, and make suggestions to the FIFA Council accordingly.

A statement signed by FIFA General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba reads, “This joint working group, to be led by FIFA, will analyze the applicable legal framework and the governance structure, mandate, and mission of normalization committees, and make suggestions to the FIFA Council accordingly.”

“We are confident that your nomination to this working group will positively contribute to the pertinent, and often essential, role played by Normalization Committees in support of federations and towards the fulfillment of good governance practices.”
