The Accra Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday, March 15 invited the Greater Accra Region Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to assist with investigations into an assault case on a party delegate.

Daniel Parker and Odailai France is suspected of having ordered a gang of eight well-built men to assault Daniel Amakye Kingsford, who wanted to observe the acclamation of Ablekuma West polling station executives at the Dansoman Liberty Park on Sunday, March 13.

Mr Amakye Kingsford, an aspirant for the upcoming constituency elections, was said to have been pushed to the ground by the suspect, who also ordered the men to beat him up.

A source told 3news.com that “it took the intervention of some people around him to rush him to an undisclosed hospital,” a source said.

The Accra Regional Police CID said Mr. Odailai France was formally charged immediately after he honoured the invitation but was released on police enquiry bail the same day.

He would, however, be arraigned before court on Wednesday, March 16.
