Ampem Darkoa Ladies were defeated by Pearlpia Ladies in the first round of the Northern Zone’s 2021/22 Women’s Premier League season.

Anathesia Achiaa’s sixth minute own goal was enough to give Pearlpia Ladies all three points against the Nana Mma lads on Monday.

Faustina Tiwaa’s late strike in the second half proved the difference maker for Supreme Ladies, who earned maximum points against Ash-Town Ladies in their first game.

Kumasi Sports Academy were unfortunate not to take away at least a point from their game, when Joyce Larbi scored a 90th minute equalizer following Ernestina Mesnah’s strike to give Fabolous Ladies the lead. But Millicent Bondah’s injury-time strike sealed the needed win for the home side.

After a good build-up to the season, the Prisons Ladies were beaten convincingly by FC Savannah, who won with a 5-2 scoreline at home.

Asana Ibrahim and Karima Abdul both scored a brace for Savannah while Helena Obeng was among the goals for Prisons.

At Friday’s fixture, Dreamz Ladies came from behind to beat Northern Ladies with a 2-1 scoreline at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
